Tallinn Secondary School No. 2 in 1980s

No big changes took place in Tallinn Secondary School No. 2 during 80s (the Soviet times) and the traditions remained the same as before but celebrating them became more free.

In 1982 seniors attended the Final bell ceremony in national clothing instead of school uniform, which was something extraordinary - as the students were running around the city centre, they were photographed by tourists and the trams stopped to let the passengers have a look. Students also visited the former location of the Boy where they brought flowers and small pictures, which were later gathered by teachers, to avoid getting in trouble.

1981 was a special year because the Tallinn Secondary School No. 2 celebrated its 100th birthday. In honour of the jubilee a formal gathering was held in Estonia concert hall. In addition to this, in November students competed  in basketball and volleyball against Pärnu Secondary School No.2, Riga Secondary School No.2, Vilnius Secondary School No.2. Tallinn Secondary School No.2 students were the best in both competitions.
