Struktuur on aatomite ja nende omavaheliste sidemete ruumiline s\u00fcsteem. Org. keemias on ainete struktuur s\u00fcsinivesinike ja teiste erinevate funktsionaalr\u00fchmade baasil. Faktini, et igale struktuurile vastab kindel omaduste hulk on viinud keemikute sajandipikkused kogemused. Ilma selle p\u00f5hit\u00f5eta ei saaks t\u00e4nap\u00e4eva keemia eksisteerida, sest ainete struktuurid saadi algselt ainete omaduste abil, mitte vastupidi. Org. keemias ongi ainete peamine v\u00e4\u00e4rtus nende omadustes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Orgaaniliste \u00fchendite isomeeria on n\u00e4htus, mille avastamine m\u00f5jutas tugevasti struktuuri m\u00f5iste kujunemist ning struktuuri ja omaduste seoseni j\u00f5udmist. N\u00e4iteks stereoisomeeria parim n\u00e4ide oleks <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thalidomide<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ravimi skandaal 1960-date aastate algul. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thalidomide<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on kasutusel mitmete v\u00e4hkide ravimisel, kuid seda kasutati ka kui unerohuna, mida peeti t\u00e4iesti ohutuks. Kuid tuli v\u00e4lja, et \u00fcks <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thalidomide<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> isomeere p\u00f5hjustas rasedate naiste laste keha osade(peamiselt k\u00e4ed ja jalad) alaarenemist.
